Capitol District Church School Convention Registration

MISSION STATEMENT

The Church (Sunday) School meets each Sunday morning at 9:45 A.M. in the I. A. Miller Room.  We have an open classroom design containing 9 class groups with teachers and support staff. Classes are held for students age 2 and up.  At the Church School we follow the AME discipline and use Christian Education publications as guides in organization and worship.  Our aim is to inform, interrupt and encourage-spiritual growth-and Christian discipleship.

Teachers at the Church School use many learning styles and teaching techniques to present the lessons. Television, computers, overhead projection, chalkboards, and display screens are used as visual methods of presentation.  We use literature from many sources: The AME Publications, Urban Ministries, Standard, and others as well as the many versions of the Bible.

The Church School sponsors programs and activities: Christmas. Easter, Founder's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Children’s' Day & Promotions, Christian Education Day, Fall Festival, Annual Picnic.  Our teachers and members participate in AME and Ecumenical workshops and retreats.  Our most noteworthy event is participation annually in the Capitol District Church (Sunday) School Convention.  There, we report on our accomplishments for the year.

You may contact the church office for information or stop by our office during the Church School Hour.

ALL ARE WELCOME!
