The
AMEC basketball ministry is designed to reach out to men, women, and
children and introduce them to Christianity through it's basketball league
tournaments. Our foundation
is the belief of our Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ and his father in
Heaven, God. The ministry is meant to build soldiers for lord and show
participants that there is more to life than just playing basketball and
hanging out on the streets. We encourage members to worship together and reach out to
others on the teams whenever there's a need for help of any kind. Before
each practice and game, a prayer is perform or a exhortation given by
player or coach, but also can be done by a member of either church
schedule to play that day. Ward
Memorial A.M.E. Church has three teams: an 8-12 year old team named the
Cavaliers; 13-15 year old team named the Warriors; and a Men's team. Our
teams are co-ed and don't require you to be a member of the church to
join. The youth teams play beginning in June lasting till August. Our
men's team play from January till April.
